Mr.
Nichols earned his law degree from the Detroit College of
Law (graduating Cum Laude). Prior to obtaining his law degree,
he also earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from
the University of Michigan and a Master's degree in biochemistry
with honors from Oakland University.
As a partner with the Detroit law firm of Charfoos &
Christensen, P.C., Mr. Nichols gained experience in negotiating
settlements of personal injury and product liability
claims.
Since
leaving the Charfoos law firm to start his own law firm, Mr.
Nichols has developed further expertise as a mediator and
arbitrator. He is the founder and president of Michigan
Mediation Centers, Inc and is the executive director of its
subsidiaries which include the Dearborn Mediation Center
and the Birmingham Mediation Center. He is a past president
and currently a member of the Board of the Michigan
Council for Divorce and Family Mediation. He is also a member
of the National Academy of Family Mediators and the
Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution.
As
a father of five, Mr. Nichols enjoys outdoor recreational
activities with his family. He and his wife, Susan are active
participants in a variety of school, church, and community
functions in Dearborn.
